Our Story
Born From Love, Loss, Faith, and Purpose
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
— Psalm 147:3
In 2011, I experienced the loss of the love of my fiancé. During that time, I found myself withdrawing from others and entering a season of deep grief and depression. The pain was overwhelming, and I struggled to find a way to process such a tremendous loss.
The one thing that brought me comfort was helping to organize his Homegoing Service. Although the process was challenging, creating a tribute in his honor allowed me to focus on the beautiful memories we shared. Through the service, I was able to give others a glimpse into his life, his character, and the legacy he left behind. It was a reminder that even in our deepest moments of sorrow, love can create something meaningful.
In 2015, I experienced another life-changing loss—the passing of my mother. Losing her was one of the hardest moments I have ever faced. I remember standing there, giving my mother permission to rest, telling her how proud I was of her and reminding her of the incredible job she had done raising me and my siblings.
When my mother took her final breath, my emotions overwhelmed me. I cried out in pain, struggling to accept that she was gone. It was my sister who gently reminded me, “This is not the way mom would wanted you to remember her. She would want you honor her legacy buy sharing our memories with others .” Those words stayed with me.
Only one month later, our family faced another heartbreaking loss—my sister passed away unexpectedly. I remember sitting in the hospital room, looking at her with tears streaming down my face. In that moment, I felt a peace come over me, as if her spirit was reminding me to be strong, take control, and help guide our family through this difficult time. I immediately began making arrangements for her memorial service.
The journey was incredibly difficult. I had just lost my mother only 45 days before, and now I was preparing to say goodbye to my sister. My heart was broken, but creating her memorial tribute gave me a sense of purpose and peace. Through the planning, the details, the photos, and the memories, I found a way to celebrate her life instead of only focusing on the pain of losing her. T hose experiences changed me forever.
I realized that a memorial service is more than just a gathering—it is a sacred opportunity to honor a person's journey, preserve their memories, and share their legacy with those who loved them. Every photograph, every word, every song, and every detail tells a story of a life that mattered.
Through my own losses, I discovered a passion for helping other families during their most difficult moments. I understand the emotional weight of planning a Homegoing Celebration while grieving. I understand the importance of having someone who can provide compassion, guidance, and attention to detail when families may not have the strength to manage everything alone.
That is why Peace of Mind Memorial Designs was created.
My mission is to help families create beautiful, meaningful tributes that reflect the unique lives of their loved ones. I consider it an honor to walk alongside families, helping them preserve memories, celebrate legacies, and find moments of peace during times of sorrow.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
— Matthew 5:4
Every life has a story. Every story deserves to be remembered.
